MICHIGAN FISH DECOYS~OLD
OSCAR PETERSON MUSKIE 1930s (CLICK HERE
EXTREMELY RARE AND COLLECTIBLE
Oscar Peterson fish decoys are highly collectible with unusual species from his
earlier periods commanding the greatest interest. This highly unusual 8"decoy
dates to the 1930s and has carved gills as well as a carved mouth. It has been in a
private collection for over 20 years and was purchased from the author of the
Oscar Peterson book Ron Fritz who identified the species as that of a muskie.
Even though there are red dots along each side of the body like you might see in a
trout, this decoy also has faintly painted vertical markings that you would expect to
see on a muskie. The condition is beautiful considering age. It has spots of paint
wear and paint loss with excellent patina and a wonderful form.
