MICHIGAN FISH DECOYS~OLD

[Item Image] SHERMAN DEWEY 1970 (CLICK HERE)
EARLY WORK BY OBSCURE, LISTED
CARVER

$45.00
Sherman Dewey was from Manistique, Michigan. He made decoys for many years
and passed away a number of years ago. Very little biographical information is
available but is is believed he began carving in the 1960s or 70s. This is a very
early example of his work. The length is 8" and the decoy is painted in salmon and
cream with natural tin fins. It is completely original and never used with very light
wear and a darker smudge which is visible near the dorsal fin on the left side of the
decoy. There is some normal paint loss on the metal tail fin but overall very nice.
